Lake Stickney - Earth Evening at Lake …04/22/2024

Activities

In December 2022, 300 trees were planted at Lake Stickney Community Park. Now, the ivy, blackberry, and other weeds have resprouted. This Earth Day, volunteer at Lake Stickney Community Park to care for the forest's next generation of trees. Activities will include garbage pick-up, weeding ivy and blackberry, repairing rabbit-fencing around young plantings, and spreading mulch. No experience is required!

What to Bring

Please wear long sleeves and long pants that you don't mind getting dirty, and sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Bring a full water bottle and a snack. Hand tools and gloves will be provided, but you may bring your own if you wish. Remember to bring rain gear if rain is in the forecast.

Where to Meet

Please meet on the lawn next to the playground.

Where to Park

Please park in the paved parking lot off Manor Way, next to the playground. There is additional parking available in the gravel parking lot at the intersection of Manor and Admiralty Way, or on the street.
